Wharfedale

Wharfedale incorporates the charming cobbled village of Grassington, the beauty spot of Bolton Abbey, and fine shopping in Ilkley.

Perhaps one of the most beautiful of all the dales which encompasses quaint villages, great shopping and stunning beauty spots such as the River Wharfe which offers a perfect backdrop for walks and picnics, and excellent fishing opportunities.

At Ghaistrill's Strid, near Grassington, a fast flowing section of the river swirls in pools among the bizarrely eroded limestone, and further downstream the river is forced through a narrow gorge at The Strid near Bolton Abbey - both well worth a look.

A traditional afternoon tea at Betty’s in Ilkely is a treat not to be missed.
