It is only 4 miles from the historic market town of Alnwick, home to the Duke of Northumberland, which offers very good shopping facilities, pubs and restaurants and Alnwick Castle with its newly re-constructed gardens. Less than 40 miles to the city of Newcastle, there are wonderful attractions to be visited in between, including Belsay Castle, and the National Trust property, Wallington.
