• 1 mile to sandy bay • In an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' • Northumbrian character cottage
Dating back to the 1840s this charming stone-built period cottage is situated in the heart of the village which is midway between Craster and Alnwick. In an ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' it is ideally located only 1 mile from a secluded sandy bay (known locally as ‘Sugar Sands’) with numerous coastal walks available virtually from the door step. Alncroft Cottage has immense character and many interesting features including beamed ceilings, open stonework and inglenook fireplace, and offers warm and very comfortable accommodation at any time of year. A large front garden and rear patio are perfect for relaxing and outdoor dining on a warm summer day. Longhoughton has a pub serving meals, a grocery shop and Post Office, whilst Alnwick 4 miles away has a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants and a visit to Alnwick Gardens and Castle is a must. The magnificent Heritage Coastline boasts some of the finest unspoilt beaches in Britain, surfing, sailing, and scuba diving is available at Beadnell Bay, whilst golf, fishing and riding are available locally. There are numerous splendid castles including Bamburgh, Warkworth and Dunstanburgh or drive across the tidal causeway to the mystical Holy Island of Lindisfarne.

Mr & Mrs Proctor from Shropshire A lovely Autumn week in our favourite part of the UK. Autumn colours all around are fantastic, beach down the road is wonderful and quiet.
Mr & Mrs Taylor from Boroughbridge The cottage was lovely. We really enjoyed the long beach walks in the cold and rain and then a hot bath in your lovely roll top bath was great.
Mr & Mrs Baker from Tamworth Thanks for a great week. The cottage was everything we could hope for, comfortable, clean, a home from from home and thanks for the wine, the icing on the cake. We will be coming again.
